Cultural Arts T-Shirts









Today we printed our shirts with help from St.Joe's volunteers for the picnic tomorrow. The design is a compilation of drawings by Freddy, Murph, Mike S. and Mike G.

Screenprinting with CEVA









Today CEVA printed split-fountain t-shirts for the upcoming picnic. By the end of the class everyone was a master screenprinter.

colorful activities


Sandy helped with a guerilla installation of collaborative sculpture pieces as a small but beautiful transformation the public landscape.


Mike S. painted a lovely portrait of a Chinese Opera singer.



Murph painted an awesome cat.


Teresa made a friendly ghost to haunt our building.

Emilia reappropriated some art objects from the spring to facilitate a fishing game. Jason can be seen above with part of his haul.

After completing our step pyramid of cardboard that we salvaged from the other workshops of PDDC, we began building a society of cardboard people to inhabit its space.

Our art community had a vibrant and productive afternoon today!

Freddy added a third dimension to his love of coloring representations of houses. We filled his sky blue house with multi-colored pastel light and set it up between the turtle terrarium and our community boombox.

Employee of the Month



Our very own Sarah Smothers won employee of the month. We are so thankful for her contributions to the Cultural Arts Center and are glad that she has been recognized for her many accomplishments here at PDDC.

Ceramics

We have a new class pet- Mr. Red Sprinkles, a red ear slider turtle. Tonya brought him into the Cultural Arts Center last week and he has been loving his new digs. In photos: Mr. Sprinkles!

Chinese Ribbon Dancing









Our dance teacher Alie Vidich has been teaching us Chinese Ribbon dancing in conjunction with our humanities program.
