This week the Cultural Arts Center's artist-in-residence Dwayne Boone presented one of his paintings to Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Chris Gocong and his wife Mandy at our Holiday Open House. Then Dwayne received a surprise gift from the Gocongs: a personalized Eagles jersey. We created the winter wonderland decorations that helped to make this event so special.

We've been busy this month at the Cultural Arts Center! We created some homemade costumes for Halloween, worked on a new splatter painting with Stanley, and listened to a lecture on the photographs of Andy Warhol as part of our Cultural Collaborations series with LaSalle University Art Museum.

Today we began our ofrenda in honor of the Day of the Dead. We will be celebrating the Day of the Dead by making notes and pictures of people we miss, like Michael Jackson, Patrick Swayze and Murph's dog Sadie. Our ofrenda will feature papel picados, lights, fake fruit and flowers.
